Our borough was at the forefront of the Industrial Revolution and archaeological features of this important time can still be seen including the 18th century Red House Glass Cone and one of the world’s biggest canal networks.
The borough has 2,087 hectares of green space and more than 20 parks and nature reserves including Wrens Nest, which is famous for it unique geology.
