Dudley Business First works closely with partner organisations to provide a range of services to meet your business needs.

High Speed 2 (HS2) Opportunities

High Speed 2 (HS2) is one of the most demanding and exciting transport projects in Europe and there will be thousands of opportunities within the HS2 supply chain. These will be:

  • created across many business sectors, requiring a wide range of capabilities;

  • suitable for suppliers of all sizes; and

  • generated over a number of years.

Registration

Registration is via email to ‘Supply Communications’. Email  SCC@hs2.org.uk to be added to the supply chain distribution list. HS2 Ltd will then invite companies to business events, highlight new opportunities and provide updates on the latest project news.

Supply chain opportunities

The construction of Phase One of HS2 between London and the West Midlands presents a great opportunity for businesses from large to small & medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), to benefit from tens of thousands of supply chain opportunities. GetSet for Growth

GetSet for Growth is a specialist service designed for businesses with the ambition and potential to grow.

Made up of finance, sales, marketing and business development experts, the GetSet for Growth West Midlands team is dedicated to offering their support and expertise to SMEs in the West Midlands area, thanks to the Regional Growth Fund.

SMEs from all sectors are eligible to register for support.

Department for International Trade (DIT)

DIT are responsible for promoting British trade across the world and ensuring the UK takes advantage of the huge opportunities open to the UK. 

Responsibilities

DIT are responsible for:

  • developing, coordinating and delivering a new trade and investment policy to promote UK business across the globe

  • developing and negotiating free trade agreements and market access deals with non-EU countries

  • negotiating plurilateral trade deals (focused on specific sectors or products)

  • providing operational support for exports and facilitating inward and outward investment

Innovation 1st

Innovation 1st is a project that assists small organisations (fewer than 250 employees) to explore business opportunities through the innovative use of technology. Companies are able to use the various cutting edge devices, discuss opportunities with advisors who have industry knowledge and experience and explore new and innovative product ideas. Organisations are also able to trial software that might be new to them, in a supportive environment, to identify ways in which their business may benefit from the adoption of enhanced technology.

Innovation 1st works with many sectors including:

  • ICT and Digital Media

  • Environmental/Carbon Management

  • Built Environment (Construction and Offsite Manufacturing)

  • High Value Manufacturing

  • Medical and Health (including Leisure)

Touch Digital

Touch Digital is a project funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and Coventry University Enterprises Ltd.

Whether you’re a new or established company, your business can use the Touch Digital Team’s expertise and resources to:

  • Explore, research and develop ideas and concepts

  • Prototype new products

  • Enhance your existing products and services

  •  Measure the usability of your product to see if it meets its intended purpose

  • Adopt their free digital products to complement your services

  • Market your business in the digital era

As Touch Digital is a fully funded project, there is no financial cost to businesses that use their services.

Businesses in the majority of sectors can be supported however, there are a few limitations.

Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses

Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses is a growth programme to help small enterprises create jobs and economic opportunity by providing greater access to business education, financial capital and business support services. The programme gives participants such access and helps them overcome barriers to business growth. 10,000 Small Businesses is fully funded by Goldman Sachs and the Goldman Sachs Foundation.
Applications are welcomed from small business leaders from all backgrounds and from all business sectors.
