The Carbon Trust Green Business Fund

The Carbon Trust offers tailored expertise, knowledge and finance to help your organisation reduce energy cost and increase profits by implementing low carbon solutions.

The Carbon Trust Green Business Fund is offering up to £10,000 to small and medium sized businesses, which could benefit from financial support when buying energy saving equipment.

The Carbon Trust also provides the following support:

  • Energy opportunity assessments - to help identify energy saving opportunities, and to develop a robust business case for the purchase of the appropriate equipment.

  • Equipment procurement support – help to find equipment suppliers including
     - A feasibility check
     - Writing performance specifications
     - Tendering support

  • Workshops – as series of workshops are planned aimed at companies with fewer than 50 employees.

Business Growth Fund (BGF)

BGF makes long term capital investments of £2 million to £10 million in ambitious companies, typically turning over £5 million to £100 million.

British Business Bank

The Government has set up the British Business Bank to help make sure finance markets for small and medium-sized businesses work effectively.
The British Business Bank manages all government programmes that help smaller businesses to access finance. It does not lend directly to businesses but works alongside private sector partners.

UK Steel Enterprise Ltd (UKSE)

UKSE is the wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Steel tasked with the responsibility of helping the economic regeneration of communities affected by changes in the steel industry. They work in steel areas across the UK assisting job and wealth creation by supporting small and medium enterprises with finance and premises. Additionally they assist community initiatives in areas across the UK with both funding and in kind support. Investment up to £750,000.
